MaDora "Dora" Holden Wilson, 92 of Pisgah Forest, North Carolina passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 24, 2025.

She was born on April 22, 1933, in Transylvania County to Winford Holden and Josie C. Hubbard.

In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her loving husband Rev. David Wilson, Jr. She was also proceeded in death by sisters, Annie, Jean, Nellie, and Betty and granddaughter Crissy Wilson.

Surviving are her sons, Rev. Larry Wilson (Nancy), Jimmy Wilson, Mike Wilson (Kathy), and daughter Mary Ellen Gossett (Michael); sisters, Shirley Pressley, Ruby Pressley, and Peggy Fisher; brothers, Steve Hubbard and David Chapman; grandchildren, Denny Wilson, Mark Wilson, Jamie Wilson, Missy Shipman, Caleb Wilson, and Colt Wilson; eight great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Her biggest joy was her granddog Stitch.  Nanny thought she took care of Stitch but really, he was taking care of her.  We give Stitch the credit for prolonging her life.  She looked forward to him coming out to stay with her every morning.  Stitch was with her until the end constantly checking on his Nanny.

She retired at the age of 81 from Transylvania County Child Care Services as well as Transylvania County Transportation.  She also worked at Varner's Drug Store.

The family will receive friends at 1:00pm on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel with the service beginning at 2:00 pm.  Her son, Rev. Larry Wilson, will be officiating. Burial will follow at Dunn's Creek Cemetery.
