Margaret Anna
Brandtjen
September 12, 1941 – July 9, 2025
Margaret Anna Brandtjen (née Mueller), affectionately known as Marge, Margie, Maggie, Margee, and Aunt Margerine, 83, of Brevard, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, after a month-long battle. Born on September 12, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Margaret lived a life full of love.
Margaret was the cherished daughter of Ernst Mueller and Margaret Fraley (née Holbrook). She was preceded in death by her parents and her baby sister, Patricia Powers. Margaret embraced her role as a housewife and devoted mother until the mid-1970s, when she returned to her family's tavern in Plat, Wisconsin. There, she served as a bartender for two decades, bringing warmth and joy to all who visited the Jolly Aire. In the mid-1990s, she moved south to Brevard, North Carolina, to be closer to her daughter Cherie. During this time, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and served seniors in their homes with compassion and care until her retirement.
Margaret lived her life for her daughters, Cherie Leffe Goldsmith (Scott) of Penrose, North Carolina, and Suzette Michelle Christianson (Dan) of Knoxville, Tennessee, teaching them how to be loving and dedicated mothers. She is also survived by her grandsons, Anthony Pruski of Hartford, Wisconsin, and Colton Goldsmith of Sylva, North Carolina; her brother, Thomas Mueller (Kay) of Clermont, Florida; and several nieces and nephews in Wisconsin and Florida. Her family remembers her as a nurturing mother, a faithful sister, and a beloved aunt whose many nicknames reflected the countless lives she touched with her kindness and vibrant spirit.
While living in North Carolina Margaret surrendered her life to Jesus Christ accepting him as her Lord and Savior and her family finds comfort knowing she is now home with Jesus, her mother, father and baby sister. The family will hold a private celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, donations to Bound for Glory Camp (P.O. Box 663, Brevard, NC 28712) are requested, reflecting her passion for children with dyslexia. Margaret's love and vibrant spirit will be cherished forever.
