Brevard – Margaret Ellen Holden Brittain, 81, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 12, 2013 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Lottie Holden and was the wife of the late Wilburn Brittain. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Mullenax, and brothers, Roy, William, and Doug Holden. Mrs. Brittain was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughters, Susie Byers and husband John of Penrose, and Linda Powell and husband Todd of Brevard; sons, Tommy Brittain and wife Rhonda of Mills River, Billy Brittain and wife Lisa of Brevard, and Bobby Brittain and wife Nancy of Brevard; brother, Bud Holden of Greenville, SC; 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren. The memorial service will be held at 4 PM Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Crossroads Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Whitesides and Rev. Chris Morgan officiating.
