Brevard – Margaret McCall Surrette Greer, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 10, 2016. A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Judson and Mollie Lyday McCall. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Andrew David Surrette and Paul Clifton Greer, her brothers, Carl and Charles McCall, her sister, Pearl Glazener. Margaret McCall Surrette Greer was a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church and she was a faithful Christian and soul winner. She had served as a Chaplain's Assistant at the V. A. Hospital in Oteen. Mrs. Greer was the former owner/operator of Margaret's Beauty Salon and Surrette Realty. Survivors include her sons, Dr. Stanley Surrette and wife Lora of Ashburn, VA, M. D. Surrette and wife Ann of Fayetteville, NC; daughter, Myra Scruggs and husband Don of Candler, NC; sisters, Betty Sibley of Charleston, SC, Lois Meyer of Brevard, and Martha Ballard and husband Cornelieu of Macon, NC; Grandchildren, Jason Surrette and wife Kelly, Leah Heise and husband David, Gina McDaniel and husband Andrew, Michelle Surrette, Jennifer Reed and husband Joey, Kimberly Scruggs, Matthew D. Scruggs and wife Sally; Great-grandchildren, Preston and Jackson Reed, Charlotte Scruggs, Adam, Cannon, and Meridian Heise, and Rylin Grace McDaniel. The family will receive friends at the Turkey Creek Baptist Church at 1 PM Saturday, September 17, 2016. The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the Turkey Creek Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
