Marie Elizabeth Worley Roberts Barnes, 90, went to be with her Lord surrounded by her nine children on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the Laurels of Greentree Ridge, Asheville, NC. A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Doil and Lela Capps Worley. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Nelos Roberts, and her second husband, Carroll Barnes, her sister, Helen Buckner, and her brother, Edward Worley. Mrs. Barnes was a member of Boylston Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughters, Mary Jo Worley and husband Eugene of Marshall, Shelby Carver and husband Bobby of Mars Hill, Rosa Mace, Judy Fortner and husband Walter all of Weaverville, Wilma Barnes and husband Bobby of Mills River; sons, Clarence Roberts and wife Joyce of Asheville, David Roberts and wife Juanita, Dean Roberts, Ricky Roberts and wife Geneva all of Weaverville; sisters, Nina Worley and husband Cecil of Detroit, MI, Della Payne and husband Dexter of St. Cloud, FL; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Monday, March 4, 2013 at Boylston Baptist Church with the Rev. James Burress officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
