Pisgah Forest – Marie Wilson Owen, 79, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at the Oaks of Brevard. A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late David and Mattie McGaha Wilson and was the wife of the late James Roland Owen who died in 2010. She was also preceded in death by a son, Wayne Owen, and several brothers and a sister. Mrs. Owen was a member of the Full Gospel Church. Surviving are her daughter, Linda Segur of Etowah; son, Billy Owen and wife Joy of Pisgah Forest; daughter-in-law, Ruby Owen of Mills River; grandchildren, Terry Segur, Sarah Owen, Rhianna Owen, Trista Owen, and Jacob Owen; great-grandchildren, Khaos Cooke, Sophie Owen, and Anika Blow. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday at the Full Gospel Church with the Rev. Larry Wilson officiating. Entombment will be in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
