Marjorie Jane Owen Tritt, 89, of Balsam Grove passed away April 21, 2013 at her home. She was born January 17, 1924 in Transylvania County to the late Luther Calvin Owen , Sr. and Ethel Jane "Grandma" Owen. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband William Holmes Tritt; daughter Freda Jane Tritt, Great-grand-daughter Emelia Tritt, brother L.C. "June" Owen, Jr., sisters Thelma Tritt, Annie Belle Owen, and Elsie Owen, and her much beloved Granny, Mary Jane Chastain McCall. Although she worked for some time at Ecusta, her greatest work was in being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Survivors include her sons Charles W. Tritt and wife Shirley of Pisgah Forest, Larry D. Tritt and wife Gayleen of Brevard; daughters Linda T. Gibson and husband Michael of Wingate, NC, Gail T. Norris and husband Randy of Brevard, and Julie T. Park and husband Karl of Lincolnton; sisters Cumile Galloway and her husband Dewey, Veda McGuire, Vivian Watkins, Grace Reese, Nola Pruitt and Edna Hanson; grandchildren Anita Taylor, Randy Tritt, Sabrina Tritt, Kelly Prim, Joshua Park and Amanda Brace; and seven great-grandchildren, Abigal, Samantha, Heather, Gabriela, Karla, Christopher and Jada. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Blantyre Baptist Church with Rev. Don Riddle and Rev. Tommy Owen officiating with interment to follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memories. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 24th from 7-9 PM in the chapel of Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family would also like to say a personal "Thank You" to Jennifer, Crystal, Christine, Danielle, Gigi, Cathy and Kim and also Transylvania Hospice for their wonderful help during Mrs. Tritt's illness.
