Martha Mildred Barton, 72, of Marshall, North Carolina, passed away on December 19th, 2021, after a short illness.

Mildred was the daughter of the late Hobart and Geneva Galloway Barton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Morris Barton, her sister-in-law, friend, and constant companion Nyoka Barton, three nephews, and two nieces.

Mildred was a blessing to all who knew her. Despite the challenges she faced and the heartaches she suffered, she found joy in life. She loved deeply, laughed freely, and made the world a brighter place for those around her. She truly was an angel among us and will be missed beyond measure.

She is survived by a sister, Joyce McClain; two brothers Carroll and Rickey Barton; dozens of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, and innumerable cousins.

Services will be held in the Chapel at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home and Crematory in Brevard on December 28th, 2021. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm with the service following at 2:00 pm. Mildred will be laid to rest with her family at Cathey's Creek Baptist Church.
