Brevard – Martha "Bea" Ray Wellington, 83, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015. A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Burgin and Mamie McCrary Ray. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Ruth Ray and Blanche Huggins, and brothers, Edward Ray and Lawrence "Buddy" Ray. Surviving are her husband, Harold E. Wellington; son, Delmus Baynard and wife Paulette of Hendersonville; daughter, Dale Baynard Mountjoy and husband Alton "Buddy" of Etowah; brothers, Foster Ray and wife Mattie of Brevard and Dr. Charles Ray of Bellville, AR; grandchildren, Christy McCall and husband David of Pisgah Forest, John Scott Baynard and wife Kandie of the Cherryfield Community, and Mamie Aiken and husband Chris of Greenville, SC; great-grandchildren, Katie and Jenny Baynard and Addie Aiken. The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, August 5, 2015 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Littleton officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
