Martha F. Roth, 89, died Monday, August 1, 2011 at Transylvania Regional Hospital. She was born in Brookville, PA. She and her late husband John ("Jack") moved from Belmore, Long Island, NY to North Carolina in 1982. Martha lived at the College Walk Retirement Community from November 2009 until declining health required a move to The Oaks in April 2011. Her husband and a son, Douglas Roth, preceded her in death. She is survived by her son Christopher Roth and his wife Sandy of East Setauket, NY, a daughter-in-law Judy Roth of West Union, SC, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandsons. Martha was a gentle, soft-spoken lady who loved her family, classical music, golf, and flowers. She was a faithful member of Brevard Davidson River Presbyterian Church where she formerly sang in the Chancel Choir and played with the Westminster Bell Choir. A service of remembrance and celebration will be held at the church on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 11:00 am. Moody-Connolly Funeral Home is caring for the family.
