Mary Beatrice Bayne Aiken, age 82,  of Rosman, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 23, 2025.

Mary will be fondly remembered for her sharp intelligence, quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and her ever-present bright smile. She had a deep love for reading, especially westerns, and in the final years of her life, she devoted herself to reading the Bible from cover to cover. Her faith was a central part of her life, and she drew great comfort and strength from the Word of God.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Ulysses and Alice Bayne, her husband, W.O. Aiken, and several of her siblings. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to her family, including her children, Cindy (Mark) Morgan of Manchester, Ohio, and Steve (Amy) Orr of Rosman, North Carolina. Mary was also a proud and loving Memaw to seven grandchildren: Amanda Pace, Levi (Samantha) Morgan, Micah (Pamela) Morgan, Ashley Morgan, Kyle (Madison) Orr, Kody Orr, and Keeton (LaDesma) Orr, along with 16 great-grandchildren. In addition, she embraced Dakota, Austin, Kansas, and April Aiken as honorary children and grandchildren.

Mary is also survived by her sister, Gertrude Jackson, and brothers, Douglas (Edith) Bayne and Norman (Nancy) Bayne, along with many nieces and nephews who cherished her.

A graveside service to celebrate Mary's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Old Toxaway Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Chester Chappell and Norman Bayne will officiate, honoring the life of a woman whose warmth, kindness, and faith touched all who knew her.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks for the love and support during this difficult time. Mary's memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.
