Rosman – Mary Ellen Green Butler, 74, passed away June 29, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Jackson County, but has lived in Rosman for 50 years. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Edd and Bessie Green, one brother, Lawrence Green, and one sister, Nancy Green. Surviving are her husband, Maurice Butler of Rosman; four children all of Rosman, Patricia, Maurice, Jr., Samuel Edd, and Patrick Butler; four brothers, James Green and wife Shirley, Shirl Green and wife Frances, Earl Green and wife Christine, and Harold Green and wife Lois; four sisters, Irene McCoy, Helen McCall, and Ruby Green all of Mills River, and Edith McCall and husband Gene of Brevard; eight grandchildren, several step-grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday, July 3, 2010 in the Chapel of Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with the Rev. Chester Chappell officiating. Burial will be in G.W. Whitmire Cemetery, off of Hwy. 178, Rosman. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:30 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
