Mary Lou Galloway Byers, 69 was called to her heavenly home on November the 4th with her family by her side.
She was preceded in death by her father Avery Galloway, mother Blanch Galloway Moore, step-father Emitt Moore, grandson Gregory Byers Jr. and sister Pat Lawter.
She is survived by her beloved husband Elvin Joe Byers, her children Greg and Kathy Byers of Lake Toxaway, Rosie and Ricky Wilson of Westminster SC, Marina and Donnie Curto of Lake Toxaway, her grandchildren Talina and Wayne Aubian of Oregon, Amanda and Brian Whitmire of Rosman, Richard Wilson and Wendy Stamey of West Union SC, Adrienne Wilson of Seneca, SC, Sha'Keitha and Justin Tischler of Mississippi, Jason (DJ) Curto and Crystal Broms of Chandler, NC, seven great-grandchildren many step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, her siblings Ray Von and Cayoln Galloway of Lake Toxaway, Bonnie and Boyce Whitmire of Brevard, Charlie Lawter of Lake Toxaway, Wanda and Glenn Fisher of Quebec, Barbara and Gene Merrill of Brevard, Brenda and Gene Scruggs of Lake Toxaway and many dearly loved nephews and nieces. Mary touched countless lives through her ministry of music as a member of Joe Byers and the Lamplighters. She will be truly missed by many.
Funeral services will be held at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel Friday November 6, 2009 at 2:00pm conducted by Rev. Tommy Owen, Rev. Dan McCall and Rev. Ray Von Galloway. Burial will follow at Mac McCall Cemetery in the Silversteen Community.
The family will receive friends from 7-9:00pm Thursday evening at the funeral home.
