Mary Gabriel Canning, age 94, died late Monday night December 6, 2010 at her home in Brevard, NC. Mrs. Canning was born February 29, 1916 in Shamokin, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband Austin "Bud" Canning who died in 1995, and her parents, Frank Gabriel and Julia Gabriel. Mrs. Canning was the retired owner of The Collectors's Nook, a jewelry/antique store in Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island, NY and she was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church . Surviving Mrs. Canning is her daughter Ceylon Mary Canning of Honolulu, HI and Brevard, NC. Memorial services will be planned for a later date.
