Mary Altha Garren Hawkins age 68, of Brevard, Passed away, Tuesday August 25, 2009 at the Brian Center of Brevard. She was born May 19, 1941 in Transylvania County to the late Ralph Columbus Garren and Lillian Ann Hensley Garren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Mrs. Hawkins was of the Baptist faith and retired from the Brevard College cafeteria. Survivors include one son Bruce Hawkins and his wife Jennifer of Knocks Corner SC, one daughter Mrs. Sherry Hawkins Galloway and her husband Mark of Brevard, one brother Charles Tommy Garren and his wife Isabell of Brevard , one sister Mrs. Martha Garren Lowe and her husband Lloyd of Brevard, two grandchildren Jessica Galloway of Brevard and Even Hawkins of Knocks Corner SC. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Pisgah Gardens conducted by Rev. Tommy Owen. Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon, August 26, 2009 from 3:00PM until 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
