Hendersonville - Mary Horton Talley Hughes, age 89, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2024, at The Landings in Mills River, NC. Born on July 22, 1935, in Union County, NC, she was the daughter of James Shuford Horton and Evelyn Chandler Horton. Mary was a devoted mother, stepmother, wife, and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wilbur Hughes, her daughter Sondra Lynne Talley, and her brothers Thomas, Michael, and James Horton.

Mary is survived by her son, Carl Talley of Fletcher, NC; her sister, Jean Griffin of Kannapolis, NC; her grandchildren, McKenzie Talley and Maitlynn Talley; her stepdaughters, Loretta Talley Dodson, Sherry Hughes Reece, and Cindy Hughes Anders, all of Brevard, NC; as well as several great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home in Brevard, NC.
