Brevard – Mary Hilda "Sissy" Johnson, 67, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 8, 2011 at her residence. A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Riley and Ellen Owen Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Mae Price, Lucy Hall, and Faye Miller, and her brother, Edward Johnson. She was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are her sisters, Rilla J. Nicholson and husband Furber of Lake Toxaway, Millie J. Stephens of Brevard, Linda J. Mills and husband Ray of Etowah, and Lura J. Lee of Brevard; brother, Robert "Bobby" Johnson of Brevard; close friend, Bobby Woods; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, August 12, 2011 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Paul Raines and Steve Boley officiating. Burial will be in E. D. Owen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 pm Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the E. D.
