Mary Jane Passmore Raines Brevard – Mary Jane Passmore Raines, 71, was called Home to be with her Heavenly Father and to be together with her parents again on Friday, May 8, 2015 at the John F. Keever Solace Center, Asheville, NC. A native of Jackson County, she grew up in Cashiers, NC and was the daughter of the late Charlie "Chuck" Passmore and Dora Belle Robinson Passmore. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Passmore Moss and a special friend, Elzie Buckner. Surviving are her daughter, Melissa Raines of Brevard; son, Davis McFee Raines Jr. of Brevard; a very special niece, Teresa Buchanan and husband James of Charlotte; special nephews, Jim Moss and Randal Moss and wife Rita all of Sylva; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 3 PM Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Upper Zachary Cemetery in Cashiers with Rev. Lewis Smith officiating. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Cedar Mountain House for the exceptional care given to Mrs. Raines.
