Mary Magdalene Kincaid Taylor
Brevard – Mary Magdalene Kincaid Taylor went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 5, 2015. She was 94 years young.
A native of Avery County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Earl Kincaid and Lexie Lee Sudderth Kincaid and was the wife of the late Lavoid Floyd Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Katherine Gale Reece, three brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Taylor was an avid gardener, a homemaker to four children, a founding member of Calvary Baptist Church, a devout Republican to a fault, and the best cornbread maker this side of heaven. She was a former member and president of the Lambs Creek Home Demonstration Club and had been active in the Pisgah Chapter of the Order of The Eastern Star.
She had a great sense of humor and a lack of strong judgment. Her crowning achievement was her faithful and loving service as an absolutely wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved all her children deeply and gave them all she had to give. She fought the good fight. She will be sorely missed. May she rest in peace.
Surviving are her children, Robert E. Taylor of Cornelius, NC; Jan Holden and husband Alvin of Brevard, and Randy Taylor of Brevard; grandchildren, John Ashworth, Wendy Taylor, Sandy Linder, Tricia Bordman, and Ryan Taylor; great-grandchildren, Kallie Taylor, Ethan, Owen, and Eliza Bordman; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 3 PM Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Gordon Benton officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Flowers are appreciated and memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
