Matthew Israel Barton, age 43, of Pisgah Forest, son of Pastor Randy and Mrs. Doris Summey Barton,

went to be with the LORD, Saturday night December 2nd, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

He was an employee of Comporium in Brevard for over 20 years and served as a Line Technician.

He leaves many family and friends who knew him and loved him.

He said his testimony was contained in the words of this old hymn:

The Love of God, Is greater far, than tongue or pen can ever tell. It goes beyond the highest star, and reaches to the lowest hell. The guilty pair, bowed down with care, God gave His Son to win; His erring child He reconciled, and pardoned from his sin.

Oh Love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong!  It shall forevermore endure, the saint's and angels song.

Could we with ink the ocean fill, And were the skies of parchment made; Were every stalk on earth a quill, and every man a scribe by trade;                                        To write the Love of God above, would drain the ocean dry;  nor could the scroll contain the whole, though stretched from sky to sky.

Visitation will be held at the Anchor Baptist Church, 3232 Hendersonville Highway in Pisgah Forest on Tuesday, December 5th from 11am until 1:45pm, with the Service following at 2pm.  Burial will follow in Piney Grove Cemetery.
