Brevard - Max Eugene Leistner, 78, passed away on December 27th, 2021 after a short illness. He was the son of the late Stanley E. Leistner and Lucille Groff. Survivors include Freddie Ruth Leistner, his dear wife of 56 years; two children Jason Leistner and wife Lauren, and Myra Davis; and his four grandchildren: Shayla, Tenley, Clint, and Benjamin. Max was a veteran of the Air Force and an employee of Dupont for 36 years. He was also a long-time member and deacon at First Baptist Church. His interests included riding motorcycles, restoring cars, and sports. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and he will be greatly missed. Memorials can be made in honor of Max to First Baptist Church in Brevard, NC. Graveside service with military honors will be held at Gillespie Evergreen Cemetery 11am, on Friday, December 31, 2021 with Reverend Tommy Crocker officiating. A memorial service will be held 2pm, Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Brevard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
