Max Erwin McCracken, 85, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2013. He was born August 6, 1927 to the late Carroll Joseph McCracken and the late Artie Wood. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Hamby McCracken, his son Samuel Erwin McCracken, and hisbrother Carroll McCracken. Mr. McCracken retired from Ecusta after having served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his daughter, Sandi Thompson and her husband Mark, and grandsons Zachary and Andrew Thompson, of Brevard, and his sister JoAnn Greer of Asheville. The memorial service will be held at 2 PM Friday, February 8, 2013 at St.Philips Episcopal Church with Father Rob Field officiating. A reception will follow the service in Miller Hall.
