Maxie Eugene Franks, age 69, of Brevard passed away Thursday January 28, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Jackson County to late D.J. Franks and M. Evelyn Franks. Mr. Franks was of the Baptist faith a retired truck driver who had many jobs ranging from mining gold, trucking and tunneling. He loved to play music of which Bluegrass was his favorite. He always had a smile on his face and loved to joke and cut up and make people laugh, he was known to have never meet a stranger. Survivors include his wife Marcelina Franks of the home, two sons: Daniel Franks and his wife Debbie Brevard and Douglas Franks and his wife Amy of Pittsburg, three daughters: Mrs. Sheryl Morrison, Ms. Maxine Franks and Ms. Michelle Franks all of Henderson Nevada, one brother Andrew Franks and his wife Penny of West Minster Maryland, one sister Mrs. Joyce Williams of High Point and thirteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles and many friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday February 3, 2010 at 2:00pm at Hamburg Baptist Church in Jackson County conducted by Rev. Tommy Owen and Rev. Tommy Madden. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home.
