Maxine Ruth Myers Tinsley, 85, of Brevard, NC passed away July 19, 2021 at Transylvania Regional Hospital. She was born January 25, 1936 in Buncombe County to the late William Myers and Lucy Dowdle Myers. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, S. Gene Tinsley in 2000, one brother Billy Myers and one sister Mary Sue Myers Baldwin. Mrs. Tinsley is survived by two children , Michael G Tinsley (Kathy) of Brevard, NC and Eric Tinsley (Priscilla) of Pisgah Forest, NC; three grandchildren, John Tinsley (Allison), Kaitlyn Tinsley Laughter (Josh) and Alex Tinsley (Catherine); five great grandchildren; one brother Eugene Myers of Missouri She attended Carr's Hill Baptist Church for 60 years and served in many capacities. Mrs. Tinsley volunteered for many years at SAFE. She loved her family, working in her yard, and going on church trips with her friends Madge Salter, Peggy Heath and other members of the church. A service for Maxine Tinsley will be held Friday, July 23, 2021 at Carr's Hill Baptist Church. 5:00 pm visitation and a memorial service to follow at 6:00 pm.
