Maybelle "Macie" Allison Gasperson, age 92, of Pisgah Forest passed away Wednesday June 22, 2011. She was born October 5, 1918 in Transylvania County to the late Charles Burgeson Allison and Minnie Bell Johnson Allison. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Oscar Lee Gasperson and her daughters Patricia Camp and Alma Lee Gasperson. Mrs. Gasperson was an avid bowler and secretary of the VFW Ladies Auxillary for a number of years. Survivors include one son, Roger Gasperson and his wife Glenda of Pisgah Forest, one daughter, Kay Garren and her husband Walt of Cedar Mountain, her sister, Helen Marshall and her husband Carroll of Pisgah Forest; Sister–in-law Annie Metcalf of Avery's Creek, eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 26, 2011 at 4:00 P.M. at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dema Barishnikov officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah Gardens.
