Melba Palmer McBride Melba Palmer McBride, 73, of Brevard stepped into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Lois Palmer and was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Edward McBride. A life-long resident of Transylvania County, Melba retired for the US Postal Service in 2001 after 20 years of service. A devout Christian, Melba was a member of Destiny Christian Fellowship. She is survived by her daughter Gloria Dawn McBride of Pisgah Forest; her son Thomas Edward McBride II of Brevard; her granddaughter, Palmer Holland and her mother, Kristina Holland of Cherryfield, along with many other extended family members and faithful friends. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church, 133 Osborne Rd., Brevard, NC. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
