Brevard – Melvin Dale Leopard, 74, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at his residence. A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Albert and Lizzie McCall Leopard. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mae Leopard, and his brother, Herbert Leopard. Mr. Leopard was retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation. Surviving are his wife, Ollie Leopard; sons, Anthony Leopard and wife Missy, and Dale Leopard and wife Carolyn all of Brevard; brother, Gerald Leopard and wife Ellen of Brevard; sisters, Loretta Pressley and husband Wayne of TN, and Dolly Sizemore and husband Dewey of Brevard; grandchildren, Jason Leopard and wife Angela, Jason Massey, and Diana Richardson and husband Craig; great-granddaughter, Kyla Leopard. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Sunday in the Chapel of Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with the Revs. Tommy Owen and Joel Aiken, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Hamburg Baptist Church Cemetery.
