Michael Joseph Costello, 92 Michael Joseph Costello, 92 of New York, NY passed away, Friday, November 7, 2014 in Brevard, North Carolina. "A celebration of life" will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Sacred Heart Church in Brevard, NC. Lunch will follow the memorial service at the church. Michael was born April 7, 1922 in New York, NY at his home. He graduated high school from Newtown High School- a New York City School. He received his Bachelors from John Jay College and a Masters Degree from Long Island University. Michael joined the US Navy to join his (5) brothers and entered WWII. Following the War, he was employed by the NYC Fire Department and ultimately found his calling as a Battalion Chief in the NYC Fire Department. After retirement, he spent most of his time on his home he built in Southold, NY on the Little Peconic Bay in Long Island. His time was spent boating, fishing, and spending time with his family. Michael is survived by his wife, Jessie P. Costello of New York and his son, Michael P. Costello and daughter-in-law Jackie Costello and their three daughters, Dani, Caitlyn and Sam. He is also survived by his grandson from his son, Bobby Costello; Robert Costello and his wife Millie Costello. He is also survived by his daughter, Palma Cohen and son-in-law David Cohen and their daughter Sienna.
