Brevard - Milford Clyde Hubbard 92, a native of Transylvania County, went home to be with the Lord on November 15, 2023.

Milford was born on September 17, 1931. He was a devoted Christian, husband and father.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Clyde and Ruth Reese Hubbard and one brother, Sherill Hubbard.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 73 years, Helen Crane Hubbard, son, Ronald Hubbard and wife Shirley,

daughter, Karen Lambert and husband Nick Lambert and many special nieces and nephews.

Milford was a member and Deacon of Carson Creek Baptist Church, a Mason for 50 years and a United States Army Veteran. He had the privilege and honor of being a devoted public servant of Transylvania County as Sheriff for 20 years from 1970 to 1990 when he retired. During this time he made many lifelong friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dunns Rock Masonic Lodge, Shriners Childrens Hospital or the Oxford Home for Children.

Funeral services will be held 2pm, Friday, November 17, 2023 at Carson Creek Baptist Church, 4727 Connestee Trail, Brevard, NC with the Rev. Eddie Dodson and Rev. Bill Bruner officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 1pm.  Interment will follow the service in Big Hill Cemetery with military honors.
