Lake Toxaway – Molly Owen Hogsed, 74, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Judia Galloway Owen. She was preceded in death by her brothers; Earl, Roland and Hobart Owen and sisters; Ella Stamey, Ruth Owen and Lucy Singleton. Molly was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She enjoyed growing flowers (especially day lilies), gardening, hunting, fishing and hiking. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Survivors include her husband of 60 years A.C. Hogsed, son; Burt Hogsed and wife Carole of Lake Toxaway, daughters; Barbara Whitmire and husband Steve of Lake Toxaway, Shelia McCall and husband Stanley of Pisgah Forest and Sharon Landreth and husband David of Mills River, sisters; Alma Simmons and husband Mack of Balsam Grove, Beatrice Holden of Brevard and Linda Kinley of Dallas, NC, grandchildren; Nathan, Jennifer, Jason, Kayla, Weston and Austin and great grandchildren; Caden, Megan and Dalton. Funeral services will be held 2pm, Friday, January 13, 2017 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with the Revs. Buster McCall and Claude Nicholson officiating. Burial will follow in Mack McCall Cemetery.
