Myrtle Hale Bush, age 89, died Wednesday September 12, 2012 in Leesburg, Georgia. She was born February 12, 1923 in Brevard to the late James Thomas Hale and the late Bruna Ray Hale. Mrs. Bush worked at Pisgah Mills in Brevard for many years. She was a manager for World Book Encyclopedia for ten years. After retiring from World Book, she worked at Mitchell Baker Service Center in Camilla, Georgia until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Cecil Bush; two sons, Robert L. Bush and James "Buddy" Bush; her sister, Hazel Kilpatrick; and her brothers, Elwood and Bobby Hale.
She was a beloved mother to her children and helped them establish their careers and businesses. She assisted her son as he established two churches in North Carolina and Georgia. Her love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was the rock that helped us all. She loved her brothers and sisters, nieces, and nephews and that love was always returned. Her life was dedicated to her family.
Survivors include her daughter Nancy J. Long of Leesburg, Georgia; two sons; Steve Bush and wife Jackie of Newton, Georgia and Danny Bush and wife Linda of Dothan, Alabama; and two sisters, Nell Vickers of Harrisburg, NC and Roberta Dodson of Brevard; daughter-in-law Gail Bush of Arden, NC; twelve grandchildren: Jimmy Long, Janet bush, Claire Mims, Lisa Williamson, Jason Adams, Steven Bush, Ricky bush, Deanna Shoemake, Matthew Bush, Carrie King, Daphne Owen, Johnny bush and Melissa Duncan and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday September 14, 2012 at 2:00am at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday at one o'clock p.m., one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Brevard.
