O'Dean McConnell, of Pisgah Forest, passed away Tuesday April 9, 2024, at the age of 87. O'Dean was born December 20, 1936, in Rosman North Carolina to the late William McKinley (Kin) McConnell and Mary Nann Prather McConnell.

O'Dean loved living in Pisgah Forest where he took long walks in the forest with lifelong friends. He enjoyed country music and southern gospel music, watching old western movies and spending time with family and friends.

He was survived by four daughters, two sons-in-law, four grandsons, two granddaughters, eight great grandsons and two great granddaughters.

The family would like to thank Cherry Springs Village and Transylvania County Hospital staff for providing excellent care for him and showing genuine concern for our family during his time with them. We would also like to thank two very special extended family members for caring for him over the past several years.
