Patricia O'Connor Cowan, age 70, of Brevard died Saturday November 19, 2011. She was born March 31, 1941 in Jersey City N.J. to the late Thomas Bernard O'Connor and Lura Hume O'Connor. Mrs. Cowan was a 1962 graduate of New Rochelle College in New York and a 1985 graduate of Western Carolina University with a Masters in Education. Mrs. Cowan was retired from the State of North Carolina as a Juvenile Court Counselor. Survivors include one son; John David Roach and his wife Marie of Forest City NC, one daughter; Patricia Roach McFarland and her husband Patrick of Leicester NC, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. And her former Son-In- Law Jesse Case of Asheville NC. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday November 23, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church conducted by Father Carl Del Giudice. . A wake service will be held prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Forest City NC at 3:00pm. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. A Rosary service will be held at 5:30pm Tuesday prior to the visitation.
