Brevard - Paul Stanley "Pops" Cantrell, 73, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 12, 2024. He was surrounded by his family. He was born in Transylvania County on October 10, 1950.

Preceding him in death were Doris Davis Cantrell (Wife), Paul Denver Cantrell (Father), Ollie Belle Cantrell (Mother), and his brother Jimmy.

Those who knew Pops best, knew he was the true definition of a family man. He loved and cherished his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren more than anything. His love for them was immeasurable. His work ethic was undeniable. He enjoyed and took pride in his skill, being around his drill rig, and many nights you would find him at a softball field. He never met a stranger. Our Pops will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He attended Crossroads Baptist Church in Brevard and is a child of God.

Left to cherish Pops' memory are his daughter Christy Rogers; his sons, Paul Cantrell (Amanda) and Thomas Cantrell (Cynthia); his grandsons, Matthew Galloway (Sara Paige) and Wyatt Cantrell; and great-granddaughters, Charley and Chesnee Galloway.

He is also survived by his brothers; Buck Cantrell (Judy), John Cantrell (Andrea), and Doug Cantrell along with his sisters; Sandy Cantrell and Carol Cantrell; and Danny Davis who he considered his brother. He also had many nieces, nephews, and family-like friends who will miss his outgoing, fun-loving personality.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at 2:00pm at Moody Connolly Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Patterson officiating.  Anyone who loved and respected him is invited to attend to share memories, stories, and pictures.
