Paul Bruce Jones, age 90 of Travelers Rest passed away Friday August 27, 2010 at his residence after a long battle with Alzheimer's. He was born in Transylvania County NC on September 8, 1919 to the late James Clyde Jones and Leona James Jones. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Mr. Jones was a retired Farmer and textile worker a member of the Church of God and a US Army veteran. Survivors include his wife of sixty six years Elgava Harris Jones of the home, one son;Robert Jones, one daughter; Brenda Harris and her husband Harold all of Travelers Rest, four brothers, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday August 31, 2010 at 2:00pm at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Howard Foster, Rev. Tony Poore and Rev. Don Davis. Interment will follow at Rock Bridge Cemetery in Jackson NC. The Family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:45pm until 1:45pm at the Funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be: Robert Lee Jones, Bill Jones, Paul Jones, James Holloway, Dean Harris and Dennis Owen. Memorial may be made to: Slater Church of God Building Fund.
