Pearl Hamlin
Brevard – Pearl Hamlin, 90, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at The Oaks of Brevard.
A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Cleophas and Ethel Barnes Hamlin. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Edwin and Carl Hamlin, her sisters, Annie Lou Gevedon, and Reba Hamlin, brothers-in-law, James Gevedon and Ruel Whitmire.
Miss Hamlin was a charter member of Temple Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a past WMU Director for the Transylvania Baptist Assoc. She was also a member of the Pisgah Chapter #198 of the Order of the Eastern Star where she had served as Worthy Matron.
Surviving are her sister, Mattie H. Whitmire of Pisgah Forest; brother, Roy Hamlin and wife Rosita of La Porte, IN; sister-in-law, Martha Hamlin of Warner Robbins, GA; nieces, Linda Sensing and husband Robert of Mills River, Janet W. Robinson and husband David of Bell Buckle, TN, and Mary Katherine Kiley and husband Mike of Winder, GA; nephews, David Gevedon and wife Marcia of Mill Spring, NC; Randy Gevedon and wife Lorraine of McDonough, GA, Kevin Gevedon and wife Shirley of Columbia, TN, Ruel Keith Whitmire of Asheville; Don Hamlin and wife Lou of Warner Robbins, GA, and Gordon Lee Hamlin and wife LaDonna of Dixon, IL.
The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Friday, March 1, 2013 at Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Byers officiating. Burial will be in Boylston Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Thursday at Temple Baptist Church.
