Sapphire - Cora Pearl Cloer Hunter, age 86, departed this life on December 4, 2023 at Brookdale Walden Ridge surrounded by loved ones.

Pearl was born on October 18, 1937 in Sapphire, North Carolina. She attended secretarial school in Atlanta and then took her first job in Chicago. Later, she became a legal secretary and then a front office manager of a dental group, but her favorite occupation was running the antique and clothing boutique in Sapphire, My Favorite Shoppe.

Pearl loved fashion, the beach, feeding anyone and everyone with her delicious homemade meals, and doting on her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Pearl, known to her family as Nanny, was a true matriarch and nurtured a family full of people who know and spread unconditional love.

Survivors include her children, Bill Craigo, Debbie Reneau, Wade Hunter, and Maria Buehler; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  In honor of Pearl, never be afraid to let those you love know how much you love them.

Funeral services will be held 2pm, Monday, December 11, 2023 at Moody Connolly Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Union Cemetery on Whitewater road in Sapphire, North Carolina.

Contributions/Donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association or Four Seasons Hospice.
