Pisgah Forest – Pearle Blankenship Gosnell, 88, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 21, 2011 at Transylvania Regional Hospital. A native of Graham County, she was the daughter of the late George Arthur Blankenship and Effie Mae Johnson Blankenship and was the wife of the late Woodfin Andrew Gosnell. Mrs. Gosnell was a faithful member of Blantyre Baptist Church. Surviving are her son, John Gosnell and wife Lee Harwood Gosnell of Spartanburg, SC; daughter, Margaret Johnson and husband David A. Johnson of Charlotte; sisters, Ollie Mae Sizemore of Pisgah Forest, Jewell Mimms of Greenwood, SC. Maxine Hyatt of Enka, and Evelyn Smith of Gastonia; grandchildren, Daniel and Katelyn Gosnell, Andrew, Dylan, and Madelyn Johnson. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Blantyre Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 pm Sunday at the church.
