Etowah - Peggy Jean Ellis O'Shields (E.O.), 83, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 with her daughter and granddaughter in law by her side. She was born on April 5, 1938, to the late Sam Van Ellis and Paulene Honeycutt Ellis. A native of Transylvania County, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Franklin D.R. (Rosie) O'Shields, two brothers, Rex Van Ellis and Larry Jack Ellis. Survivors include two children, daughter, Debra O'Shields McKinney of Etowah and son, Franklin Martin O'Shields and wife Charlene O'Shields of Chattanooga, TN, two grandchildren, Christopher Martin (Marty) Smith and fiancé Sarah Early of Mills River and Johnathan Jessi McKinney and wife Brittany McKinney of Sapphire, one sister, Shirley Ellis Aiken of Brevard, 13 great grandchildren, Martin Brady Smith, Hannah Caitlyn McKinney, Brianna Faith McKinney, Randy Josiah McKinney, Nova Lee Pitawankwat, Ceaira Rayne Henson, Robert Colton Henson, Johnathan Nathaniel McKinney, Madison Grace McKinney, Able Isaiah McKinney, Analise Eddleman, Shane Farmer and Elizabeth Grace Pryor whom she absolutely adored along with her great nephew , Jeremy David McKinney as well as several nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held 2pm, Saturday June 26, 2021 at Moody Connolly Funeral home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
