Rosman – Phillip Edward Owen, 67, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2010 at Transylvania Regional Hospital. A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late Robert "Rob" Owen and Lola Chapman Owen. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Floyd Owen and Hooger Owen. Phillip was a very giving man and always put others needs before his own. Surviving are his wife, Wanda M. Owen; sons, Michael Edward Owen and wife Rita and Ricky Traylor and wife Cathy all of Rosman; step-son, Jerry Burt Banks, II and wife Korina of Bristol, VA; step-daughter, Twila Cooper and husband Kenneth of Noblesville, IN; sisters, Carolyn Galloway and husband Rev. Ray Von Galloway of Balsam Grove, Joan Ziegler and husband Van of Balsam Grove, Kathleen Hall of Brevard. And Sally Owen and husband L. C. of Balsam Grove; grandchildren, Shane Owen and Christopher Owen and wife Ashley all of Rosman; eight step-grandchildren; great-granddaughter, McKenzie Owen of Rosman. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 pm Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. The family would like to thank everyone who supported and prayed for Phillip and his family during his illness. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
