Brevard – Raleigh Thomas Waldrop, 101 passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2015.

He was the son of the late John Lewis and Addie Ross Waldrop. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his bother; Ralph Waldrop and sister, Marie Nicholson.

Mr. Waldrop was a member of Cherryfield Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, devoted father and a doting Papa to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Most importantly, Raleigh served his country in WWII in the Army Air Force.

Surviving are his wife of 70 years Naomi Ashe Waldrop, daughters; Gayle Alexander (Bill) of Tamassee, SC and Kathy Jamerson (Bob) of Brevard, sister in law; Mildred Hooper, grandchildren; Heather, Holleigh, Drew and Ashleigh, twin great grandchildren; Alyssa and Claire, special cousin; Ross Wilson and many nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held 10am, Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Gillespie-Evergreen Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Transylvania County Honor Guard. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2pm, Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Cherryfield Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cherry Field Baptist Church, 2070 Whitmire Road, Brevard, NC 28712.
