Ray Calvin Martin, 84, of Lake Toxaway passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017. He was the son of the late Parker and Lillie Mae Hill Martin. He was preceded in death by his son, Roger Martin; brother, Charles Martin and sister, Clara Martin Baldwin. Ray was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where he was the chairman of deacons and a Sunday school teacher. He served is country during the Korean Conflict in the U S Navy. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was an avid Clemson Tiger football fan. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa. He had a giant heart and would help anyone in need. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Freda McCall Martin, son; Ricky Martin and wife Rhonda of Brevard, daughter; Haley Rhodes and husband Scott of Lake Toxaway, grandchildren; Allison, Tyler, Luke and Cross and great grandchildren; Martha, Parker and Jack. Funeral Services will be held 2pm, Friday, September 1, 2017 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with military honors conducted by the Transylvania County Honor Guard.
