Rev. Joseph Wesley Terry Brevard – Rev. Joseph Wesley Terry, 71, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 7, 2011 at the Hospice House, Forest City, NC. A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late Joseph Alvin Terry and Delphia Davidson Terry and was the husband of the late Marie Terry. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy T. Honeycutt, sister, Helen Morrison, and brothers, Don, Jimmy, and Richard Terry. Rev. Terry was a retired minister and the former pastor of Cherokee Church of God, Bryson City Church of God, Old Fort Church of God, Shooting Creek Church of God, Forest City Church of God, and Siler City Church God. He was a member of Rosman Church of God. Rev. Terry was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Surviving are his daughter, Donna T. Byrd and husband Chris of Bostic, NC; son, John Lee Terry and wife Lavelle of Salem, SC; sisters, Gail Johnson and husband John of Simpsonville, SC, and Nancy McCall of Brevard; brother, Tony Terry and wife Debbie of California; grandchildren, Ronnie Honeycutt, Faith Stamey, Josh Honeycutt, Joseph Byrd, Daniel Byrd, and Jacob Terry. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday at the Open Arms Tabernacle with the Revs. John Devine, Ned Pressley, Billy Criscoe, and Donald Bates officiating. Burial will be Pisgah Gardens.
