Rev. Joseph "Joe" Worley Woodring, Jr. Brevard – Rev. Joseph "Joe" Worley Woodring, Jr., 79, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 15, 2015. A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late Joseph Worley Woodring, Sr. and Elsie Golden Woodring. He was also preceded in death by his daughters, Martha Jean Woodring and Kansada "Kandy" Woodring, and a sister, Janie Russell. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Betty Pruitt Woodring; daughters, Shirley Young of Rosman, Brenda Winebarger and husband Cliff of Gulfport, MS. Sandy Houck and husband Derek of Brevard; son, Joe Woodring of Gulfport, MS; sisters, Louise Rogers and husband Bob and Dorothy Lail all of Easley, SC, Betsy Lollis and Betty Hall both of Pickens, SC; brothers, J.B. Woodring of Rosman, Vernon Woodring of Mills River, Robert Woodring of Brevard; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, June 20, 2015 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Owen officiating. Burial will be in Little River Baptist Church Cemetery.
