Obituary

Rev. Ronald Gene Lashley, age 75 of Brevard died Friday January 14, 201. He was born December 15,1935 in Graham County N.C. to the late Joseph Theodore Lashley and Donnie Bivins McCauley and one brother Billy Wayne Lashley. Rev. Lashley began his ministerial career after graduating from Tennessee Temple and Bob Jones University he served as Pastor and interim pastor at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Milton Fl. as well as churchs in Pensacola Fl. and Alabama. He pastored Morning Side Baptist Church in Brevard in the 1960's, and was also employed at Wal-Mart for seventeen years. Survivors include his wife Lavada Corn Lashley, two sons; Mark Lashley and his wife Patty of Conway Arkansas, Mike Lashley and his wife Linda of Milton Fl. one step son Kenny Angel and his wife Pamela of Charlotte, one daughter; Tami Browers of Pilot Knob Missiouri and two step daughters; Sharon McCoy and her husband Kenneth of Charoltte, Karen Reid and her husband Ron of Lake Toxaway. Five grandchildren; Chase Lashley of Conway Arkansas, Casey Browers of Pilot Knob Missouri, Reid of Charlotte, Jonathan Reid of Lake Toxaway and Tara Angel of Pensacola Fl. two great grandchildren Cali Reid of Lake Toxaway and James Reid-Owens of Charlotte. Funeral services will be held Monday January 17, 201 at 11:30am at Cedar Mountain Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Harland Ramsey, Rev. Mark Lashley and Troy Cornett. Interment will follow at Gillespie Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until 11:30am prior to the service at the church on Monday.
