Richard "Dick" Bazley, age 76, of Brevard, died, Saturday October 10, 2009, at his residence. He was born October 11, 1932 in Akron Ohio to the late Cecil Strangward Bazley and Bernice Dahl Cosilmon. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Gerald Bazley, two sisters Marjorie Scriven and Beverly Benson and two half sisters Marion Marston and Jane Cross.
Mr. Bazley attended Kent State University where he graduated with degrees in Speech and Biology. He was employed as a pharmacy salesman for several pharmaceutical companies he later worked in real estate a cement truck driver and as a tour bus driver in San Diego Ca. After moving to Brevard in 1996, Dick worked for Transylvania County Recycling Centers where he met many wonderful people and their dogs who he knew all by name. He loved life, cars of the 1930's and 1940's, especially the Hudson's, Packard's and Tucker's he also loved traveling to car shows and had a love of sailing.
Survivors include his wife Billie Roe of the home one son David Alan Bazley and his wife Sheri of Nacogdoches Tx, one Daughter Ms. Anne Constance Townley and husband Jeffrey of Bulard Tx, one brother Cecil Gustav "Butch" Bazley of Lexington Ohio, one brother-in-law Marv Scriven, eight grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews his father and mother-in-law Charles and Jessie Roe of Pisgah Forest, four brothers-in-laws Charles Roe and his wife Michele of Cosa Masa Ca., John Roe and his wife Sheila of Dunlop Tn, Thomas Roe of Pisgah Forest and Chris Roe of Brevard.
Memorial services will be held Friday, October 16, 2009 at 11 AM at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home conducted by Celebrant Gatha L. Dickson. The family will greet friends following the service.
