IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ricky Donald
Rackley
January 1, 1957 – September 22, 2022
Rosman - Ricky Donald Rackley, 65, surrounded by his family, left this world and walked into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Thursday, September 22, 2022 after a 16 year battle with dementia.
Ricky was born on January 1, 1957 in Brevard, NC to Don and Effie Mae Rackley.
Ricky made the most important decision of his life on May 18, 1975 when he accepted Christ as his Savior. Six years later, on June 22, 1981, he accepted the call to preach. One of the greatest blessings bestowed to him by the Lord was the opportunity to pastor Midway Bible Baptist Church for 14 years. With all of his heart, he invested countless hours loving and ministering to the individuals and families of the church. Ricky loved singing in church meetings as well with Jenny and his children.
Although pastoring was his passion and calling in life, he was also a man of many talents. He worked several years as a master mechanic, created his own insurance business in the late 80's and also continued in his father-in-law's footsteps by establishing his own construction business known today as Rackley Inc. which is run by his two sons.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Jenny Cash Rackley; children, Jonathan (Andrea) of Lake Toxaway, Brandon of Brevard, and Whitney Sexton (Josh) of Rosman; siblings, Barry (Elisha) of Rogersville, TN, and Kelly Rackley Jarvis (Robert) of Pacolet, SC. He is also survived by the joys of his life, his grandchildren; Corey Rackley, Kiahna Sexton, Braden Rackley, Kynzie Sexton, Ransom Rackley and Gunner Rackley.
Though he will be greatly missed, we rest assured, knowing he is now healed and in the presence of our Lord.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the MSU staff at the Oaks of Brevard, and Kay Steen, Director of Nursing.
Funeral services will be held 2pm, Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Midway Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm until 2pm before the service. Interment will follow the service in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
