Pisgah Forest - Robbie Woody Smathers (Bobbie), 80, died Tuesday, February 27, 2024 after battling cancer.

She was born in Buncombe County on May 15,  1943. Bobbie was a daughter of the late  Helen Cearley and Orville W. Woody. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Nelda Jane Woody, and Cora Lee Woody Shipley.

Bobbie was retired after teaching 30 years in the Henderson County School System.

She was an amazing mother and Nana, and is survived by her son Kenneth (Rick) Smathers and his wife Toni Smathers, their children William Russell and Nicholas Smathers and his wife Star Smathers. Additionally Bobbie is survived by her sister,  Jerri Woody Felkel and her husband Gary Felkel, and her niece Missy Shipley Ramsey  and  her husband Rob Ramsey.

A graveside service will be held 2pm,  Saturday, March 2,  2024 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice.
