Brevard - Robert "Bob" Berdine Chappell, Jr, 91, passed away at home surrounded by family on June 28, 2021, following a brief battle with cancer. Bob was born in Pickens County, SC, a son of the late Robert B. and Dallie Stansell Chappell. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Margaret Long Chappell, sisters, Lois Bones, Merle Grigsby, brothers, Leland, Jay, Clinton, Buren, Craig, Gerald Chappell and two infant granddaughters, Lauren Chappell & Angel Ruggieri. He has been a resident of Transylvania County since 1972, where he retired from a rewarding career as a building contractor. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include daughters, Neisha Ruggieri and husband Frank of Dacula, GA, Sheila Ashford and husband Blane of Greensboro, GA, son, Tony Chappell and wife Lisa of Pisgah Forest, NC, sisters, Margaret McCollum of Easley SC, Georgia Garrett and husband George of Easley, SC, Joyce Middleton and husband Richard, of Jacksonville, FL, and Geraldine Anthony of Easley, SC, granddaughters, Ansley Chappell and husband Kurt Reise of Brevard, NC, Alexa Clayton and husband Will of Greenville, SC, Tristan Chappell of Brevard, NC, Nicole Ruggieri, of Atlanta, GA, and Sophia Ruggieri, of Dacula, GA, two great-grandsons, Liam Clayton, Ronin Hartman and great-granddaughter Dallie Reise. A graveside service will be held 11am, Friday, July 2, 2021 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with Rev. Eddie Dodson officiating.
