Robert Walter Hinkle, age 89, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 24, 2020. He was the son of the late Walter and Della Cash Hinkle. He was preceded in death by his wife Emma Barton Hinkle, two brothers, Ray and Charles Hinkle and one sister, Alta Dufton. Mr. Hinkle proudly served his country in the U S Army. He was a member of Whitewater Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He loved the Lord and his church. Survivors include one niece, Marie Massey of Greer, SC, three nephews, Virgil Hinkle of Greer, SC, Larry Hinkle of Mills River and Jack Hinkle of Brevard. Funeral services will be held, 230pm, Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Whitewater Baptist Church with the Revs. Bradley Chappell and Claude Nicholson officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Whitewater Baptist Church Building Fund.
